Who Sues?

Can you spot a lawsuit waiting to happen? Maybe. Which people are the most likely to involve themselves in a lawsuit?  Is there any way to spot them before they sue you?
Oliver Frascona, a Colorado attorney and real estate broker, wrote a book called The Paper Trail.  In it he offers some hints for spotting people who are likely to be litigious.

Avoid people who meet the following criteria:

1. Someone who envies the material possessions of others;
2. Someone who feels the world is not fair to them;
3. Someone who tells you about the poor conduct of another landlord, lawyer, or other professional;
4. Someone who confides excessively in you;
5. Someone who suggests that some action or statement is either incorrect or correct in direct contradiction to what you know to be true;
6. Someone who wants to “get away” with something or wants to “get around” the rules.
